B Medical Systems launches its manufacturing plant in Mundra, Gujarat
B Medical Systems, a world leader in medical cold chain solutions, headquartered in Luxembourg, inaugurated its new Indian manufacturing plant in Mundra, Gujarat, in the presence of several national and international dignitaries.
Built with an investment of over Rs 100 crore, the facility has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units of cold chain medical products such as vaccine refrigerators, freezers and transport boxes, which can also be rapidly extended according to demand. The Mundra factory is B Medical Systems’ first manufacturing facility outside of Europe and is expected to generate hundreds of job opportunities in the Kutch region.
The Honorable Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, honored the occasion and said in his message: “I am very satisfied that the first virtual summit that I organized with the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi a little while ago over a year has paid off so quickly. In less than a year, the team at B Medical Systems set up this Make in India production site and started producing medical cold chain equipment in the state of Gujarat, which I would like to congratulate for its ease of investment. He also thanked the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Government of Gujarat, Invest India and Indextb for their support in the trip of B Medical Systems in India.
Shri. Paroshottam Rupala, the Honorable Union Minister of Fisheries, Livestock and Dairy Farming, Government of India, unveiled B Medical Systems’ first multi-mode refrigerator / freezer and / or ice freezer made in India from B Medical Systems which will play a big role in improving the National Animal Disease Control Program.
He said: “I extend my congratulations to the Prime Ministers of India and Luxembourg whose visionary leadership has resulted in the launch of this bilateral project, which will save not only millions of human lives but also animal lives. It will not only meet the requirements of the human health ecosystem, but also the animal health ecosystem. “
Shri Rupala has been instrumental in transforming the livestock sector in India, which will play a key role in realizing Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of doubling the incomes of farmers across the country.
Inauguration of a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant
The factory was inaugurated by the Honorable Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in India, Peggy Frantzen in the presence of Rakshit Shah, Executive Director of Adani Ports and SEZ, Dr Naveen Thacker, President, International Pediatric Association, Dr Upendra S Kinjawadekar (President Elect -2022, Indian Pediatric Association) and Dr Bakul Parekh, (President – 2020, Indian Academy of Pediatrics).
The opening ceremony was also marked by video messages and notes from the Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Sri. Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel, Shri Sandeep Chakravorty, IFS, Chairman of the Adani Foundation, Dr Priti G Adani, Managing Director of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone, Ltd, Karan Adani, CEO of Invest India Shri Deepak Bagla, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government of India and several other dignitaries. Rakshit Shah, Executive Director of Adani Ports and SEZ, unveiled the “Our Make in India Journey” memoir from B Medical System India Pvt Ltd, showcasing the company’s journey over the past year.

Empower women in the factory
The company is also proud to announce that the majority of the factory’s workforce is female and is proud to help empower women with the support of the Adani Foundation. B Medical Systems also announced the launch of two CSR projects for the education of nearly 1,000 marginalized children, one with the Yusuf Meherally Foundation in Kutch and the other with the Vidyavihar Kelvani Mandal in Palitana to support education. orphans and children of doli / palkhi workers.
B Medical Systems India Pvt Ltd was established in early 2021 after B Medical Systems received the invitation from the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, to establish a production plant in India to support the country’s vaccination efforts following the virtual bilateral summit between India and Luxembourg on November 19, 2020.
